What time of day do family sessions happen?
Usually around mid-morning around 10am is ideal. It’s when the light is beautiful and soft, you’ve had your coffee, the kids have had brekkie, and everyone’s feeling bright-eyed and ready to go.
What if one of the kids isn’t in the mood?
That’s completely okay! My sessions are relaxed and playful, and I follow each child’s pace. I let them lead, keeping things low-key, and gently guide moments as they come. Often, the most beautiful photos come from the candid moments in between.
Where will the session take place?
Sessions can take place outdoors at a beautiful location, or in the comfort of your home for a more intimate and natural feel. I’m always happy to recommend locations that photograph beautifully.
What if it rains?
If your session is at home, rain won’t be a problem. We’ll stay cosy indoors and make the most of the beautiful natural light coming through your windows.
If we’ve planned an outdoor shoot and the weather isn’t playing nice, we’ll keep an eye on the forecast and reschedule to a new day that suits. I’ll always touch base the day before with a plan, and we’ll make the call together.
Do I need to tidy the house before you arrive?
No deep cleaning required, I promise.
If you feel up to it, a quick tidy of a few little areas we might shoot in is more than enough. We’ll use a few pockets of your home where the light is beautiful, but there’s no need to stress about making everything perfect.
What if someone in the family is unwell?
We’ll reschedule. No worries at all.
I want everyone to feel their best (and I know little ones are experts at picking up bugs). Just let me know and we’ll find a new date that works.
Do you offer sessions for extended family members?
I do! Please fill out my contact form letting me know how many people will be participating in the session and I will send you the custom quote.
What should we wear?
Wear whatever feels like you! I love seeing colour and personality in your outfits, but I suggest avoiding big logos or distracting patterns so the focus stays on your connection and emotions. The goal is for you to feel comfortable and for the photos to feel like you.
