FAQ

What age is best for a newborn session?

There's no right answer for this question, most people like to get in within the first few weeks after baby is born. That said, every baby is different. I've gone up to 5 months still with beautiful photos. The right time is simply when it feels right for you.

What time of the day to newborn sessions happen?

Usually mid-morning, around 10am works best. It’s when babies are often at their calmest, and your home is filled with that beautiful natural light. But don’t stress, we’ll chat and pick a time that feels right for you.

What is a newborn session like?

We’ll spend a slow, easy morning together at your place. No rushing, no pressure. I leave plenty of time so we can follow your baby’s lead. That might mean stopping for a feed, settling, taking breaks, or just doing whatever’s needed on the day to keep you and your baby feeling calm and comfortable.

What if I’m awkward in front of the camera?

You’re not alone! Most people say this before their session. I’ll gently guide you with simple prompts so you never feel like you have to “pose.” My goal is for the session to feel more like spending time together than being photographed.

Do I need to tidy the house before you arrive?

No deep cleaning required, I promise.

If you feel up to it, a quick tidy of a few little areas we might shoot in is more than enough. We’ll use a few pockets of your home where the light is beautiful, but there’s no need to stress about making everything perfect.

Can we do some photos outside as well?

Absolutely. I always love capturing a photo or two at your front door, it’s such a special spot. The place you brought your baby home to. If your backyard gets lovely light or has a quiet corner, we can definitely wander out there too.

Can we involve older siblings?

Yes!!!! I love when older siblings are present, its also a beautiful way to involve them and celebrate their promotion to big brother/sister

What if my house doesn’t get much natural light?

Don’t stress, I've never visited a house I haven't been able to take beautiful photos in.
